Jessica Simpson has revealed the real reason herself and fiancé Eric Johnson haven’t had the chance to get married yet…

He just “keeps knocking her up”!

The happy couple have been engaged for two years now and have set two separate wedding dates, both of which they’ve had to cancel because they've discovered Jessica is pregnant.

“We’ve had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up,” she said when she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night.

“We're doing it very backwards, I know... I'll just keep my legs crossed, I guess, this time.”

The 32-year-old is now pregnant with her second child and confessed to Leno it was not planned.

“Apparently it was a part of God's plan for my life,” she laughed as she chatted about her new pregnancy. “I was extremely shocked because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes, trying to get back to the old, vibrant Jessica. You know, it was kind of like a one-night stand. And it happened, all over again!”

The glowing star is watching what she eats this time around, after gaining what she said was “a lot more than doctors would recommend.”

Jessica admitted: “I was really happy to be pregnant and I didn't ever step on the scale. I didn't realise you could gain that much weight that quickly.”

“I didn't really make any healthy good decisions.”

The singer and actress recently lost 50 pounds as part of an endorsement campaign with Weight Watchers.

Jessica also chatted about her return to the small screen in a new sitcom pilot for NBC, which will be inspired by her life.

She said she will play herself, while actors will play people like Eric and her dad. She promised a funny show and said she is very excited to produce and star in the single-camera, half-hour series.

Meanwhile, the Weight Watchers spokesperson and her fiancé Eric Johnson have been holidaying with their eight-month-old daughter Maxwell in Hawaii.
