Sobriety Traps Russell Brand and Geri Halliwell in a Bubble of Love

Russell Brand fell sober in love with Geri Halliwell when he discovered that she has not had a drink for a number of years.

According to Radar Online, the 37-year-old former drug addict was attracted to Geri because she leads a quiet life away from wild parties and booze fuelled events.

The 40-year-old Spice Girl broke up with her boyfriend Henry Beckwith earlier this year because of his continuous presence at parties and Russell is believed to have pulled the plug on Katy Perry for similar reasons.

Sources close to the stars say that Russell and Geri would much rather cuddle up on the sofa together than visit parties where there are temptations everywhere. 

“Russell and Geri bonded over the fact that there’s more to life than drinking,” a source revealed.

“Back in the 90s the pair partied for England. Their drunken escapades were well documented and there wasn’t a day where they weren’t pictured staggering out of a hip London venue. But now they like nothing more than shunning the fancy clubs and bars.

 “They have cleaned up their lifestyles, both are avid Yogis and don’t touch a drop of alcohol.

“Geri has her daughter Bluebell to consider, while Russell has been sober for almost 10 years and has risen to the top clean and knows if he did drink he would be right back where he started.

“That was why it was so tough for him when he was married to Katy. He would avoid any after-parties because he didn’t want to be surrounded by people who were drinking around him.

“It was the same for Geri, her ex Henry wanted to continue partying and she was just desperate to settle down. That’s why they split.

“Russell and Geri are at the same place with their lives and they want to settle and enjoy the fruits of their labor,” the source said.

This is not just a fling between the two. Russell even took Geri and her daughter Bluebell, six, on a tour of Hampton Court Palace over the weekend.

“Things are getting very serious between them — they’re a proper couple now. They had met several times in the past, but really got to know each other during the Olympics,” said a source.

Her.ie thinks Geri is crazy for going anywhere near Russell! He certainly has proven he’s not much of a gentleman by slamming his ex-wife Katy Perry at every opportunity.
