Taylor Swift has issued a public apology to Nicki Minaj, after some cross words were exchanged on social media.
Swift, 25, got herself into a little hot water earlier this week when she took Nicki’s frustration at missing out on some VMA nominations very personally.
Nicki, 32, took the industry to task over the fact that she didn’t make the Video of the Year shortlist.
In a series of tweets, Minaj slammed the entire music industry for its representation and appreciation of black women.
If I was a different “kind” of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well. ???

U couldn’t go on social media w/o seeing ppl doing the cover art, choreo, outfits for Halloween…an impact like that & no VOTY nomination?

If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year ?????????????

Taylor took the tweets as a pointed dig at her own work, in particular the Bad Blood video – which is nominated in the Video of the Year category, and wasn’t long formulating a frosty response.
@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..

@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on.

In the aftermath, Taylor was widely criticised for missing the point of Nicki’s original outburst. It seems she has now had a change of heart and on Thursday evening issued a public apology.
I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ
