The most hardworking member of the royal family has been named.

According to a recently released report, Princess Anne is the most hardworking member as she has attended the most official royal engagements this year.

The Court Circular shows how many public engagements each royal takes on during the calendar year and for 2018, Princess Anne comes out on top with appearances on over 180 days of the year.

The research was undertaken by The Telegraph and in second place is Prince Edward with 170 days of royal engagements.

Prince Charles comes in at third place with 160 days and the Queen carried out engagements on over 120 days of the year gone past.

Her grandson Prince William has a tally of 120 days and understandably his wife, Kate Middleton, made fewer appearances last year on account of having her third child, Prince Louis, and subsequently taking maternity leave.

It’s thought that the Duchess of Cambridge attended engagements on over 50 days and additionally, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex also features on the circular for the first time.

Since officially becoming a member of the royal family after marrying Prince Harry in May, Meghan is regularly photographed at official engagements and alongside her husband, she completed a 16-day royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

It’s been rumoured that she’s working very hard and palace staff have reportedly warned her to slow down ahead of the birth of her first child.

Back in October, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child in spring 2019.
