Tina Turner’s cause of death has been revealed after it was announced earlier this week that the iconic singer had passed away.

The singer died following a long illness, her publicist announced this evening.

They issued a statement following the ‘Proud Mary’ singer’s death.

“Tina Turner, the “Queen of Rock’n Roll” has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland,” they told PA.

“With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” they added.

Now, her representatives have confirmed to the Daily Mail that her cause of death was due to natural causes.

Over the last number of years, Tina suffered various health issues which included high blood pressure, a battle with intestinal cancer, and kidney failure.

In 2017, Tina’s husband Erwin Bach donated her a kidney in order for her to live a few years longer.

Turner was best known for her songs ‘The Best’ and ‘Proud Mary’.

Tributes have been pouring in for the music legend.

One fan wrote, “An absolute legend. Her music will always be the one that gets people on the dance floor.”

Another added, “Rest in peace, Tina Turner. Your legacy will continue to impact everyone’s lives and artistry.”

“There are no words to describe how much of a light tina turner the queen of rock was, how incredibly talented she was, and how she paved the way for so many artists,” another added.

Beyoncé also penned a moving tribute to her hero following the singer’s death.

Alongside a photo of her performing with Tina Turner, Beyoncé wrote:

“My beloved queen. I love you endlessly,” she shared.

The Grammy winner continued, “I’m so grateful for your inspiration and all the ways you have paved the way.”

“You are strength and resilience. You are the epitome of power and passion,” she continued.

“We are all so fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful spirit that will forever remain. Thank you for all you have done,” she concluded.
