Unexpected.

Amy Winehouse’s on-again off-again relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil garnered plenty of headlines during the height of her fame but it turns out that she got close to a future pop star during her teenage years.

Matt Willis from Busted has revealed that he and Amy attended the same stage school and became good friends.

He told the Mirror that they even shared a kiss during their time at school.

“We kissed once,” he said,

“It was just a bit of silliness really but we were really, really good mates.”

The pair both attended the Sylvia Young Drama School in London in the late 90s.

The school has produced some of the UK’s biggest stars, having had everyone from Adele and Dua Lipa to Rita Ora and Nicholas Hoult study there.

Matt, who is now married to presenter Emma Willis, said he loved his time at the school.

“I just had the best time there – I was given total freedom to completely express myself and I loved every minute of it,” he said.

Amy and Blake married in 2007 after several years of dating on and off.

They divorced in 2009.

She was also linked to musician Pete Doherty in her 20s and was engaged to filmmaker Reg Traviss when she died in 2011.
