Adele’s decision mirrors that of Taylor Swift who removed her music from Spotify as she felt it was being devalued by users listening to it without paying anything to do so. In a statement Spotify stated: 'We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify. We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy ‘25’ on Spotify alongside ‘19’ and ‘21’ very soon.’
When you look at the track record of music stars like Beyonce, who held off on streaming her most recent album for almost a year, we won’t be seeing 25 on services like Spotify anytime soon.Explore more on these topics:
