Elizabeth Banks has taken a public swipe at Tara Reid, saying that not all of her peers have managed to make it in the movie business.

Banks recently stepped into the director’s chair for Pitch Perfect 2 and during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress revealed she is aware that she is among a small group of women to achieve that level of success.

‘There was a group of us girls coming up. A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not,” she said.

“I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here. I do love Sharknado.”

While Reid has seen her career flounder with appearances in made-for-TV movies, Banks has enjoyed appearance in high profile franchises including The Hunger Games and said that she hoped to join Angelina Jolie and Jodie Foster in the group of female actors turned successful directors.

“The list of women who get to make studio-level films is very short. And I’m not quite in that club yet. Until this movie comes out, then we’ll see. This shoot is the test. I like to get A’s.”
