Derry Girls fans are a wee bit surprised to learn that the show’s star, Saoirse Monica Jackson, is in a relationship with DJ Denis Sulta.
The pair have actually been dating for several months now, but after a tweet about their relationship went viral earlier this week, many fans only learnt of this pairing in the past few days.
The tweet read: “There are some random celebrity couples out there but Denis Sulta and Erin from Derry girls takes the cake.”
In the replies, the shock of some fans was evident.
One wrote: “Still not over it.”
Another tweeted: “Can’t believe it.”
Others retweeted the post to convey their surprise.

Someone else shared what they thought was a chance encounter with them both, tweeting: “Lol I remember when they came into my old work and when we were all hanging out after the event I was like wow what are the chances of BOTH of them being here.”
Others meanwhile gave the award of most random celebrity couple to Steve-O and Stacey Solomon, which is fair, I suppose.
Indeed, the Irish actress and the Scottish DJ went Instagram official last September, after Saoirse posted two snaps of herself with him on their holidays.
The pair enjoyed some time together at the Monachyle Mhor Hotel in Scotland, and in one of them, Denis is down on one knee.
Saoirse later had to add a disclaimer to assure fans that he wasn’t proposing.
She wrote: “DISCLAIMER – NOOOOO…. This is not an engagement photo people Hec just had a long day on his feet.”
