Corrie’s Kym Marsh drops hint that her character could be killed off

Cathy Donohue

Corrie's Kym Marsh

One of the soap’s most popular characters.

Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh is to be involved in a dramatic storyline this week as her character Michelle Connor is shot by Pat Phelan.

As fans may have heard, Michelle is due to marry her partner Robert but just minutes before the ceremony, she’s taken hostage by Pat.

As viewers know, Pat Phelan is one of the worst villains to ever feature on Corrie and with Michelle such a popular character, it’s sure to cause fireworks.

Earlier this year, Kym had said that she had signed a new contract with the Manchester-based soap and would be staying on but the fact that she’s involved in this storyline has confused people.

Furthermore, Kym appeared on This Morning this week and hinted that the news of her contract could be a ‘red herring’ and she could, in fact, be leaving the show.

“Well there’s been reports that it was renewed. But is it a red herring? Just saying!”

It’s difficult to know how this particular storyline will play out but viewers will want to tune in to see what Michelle’s fate is.

This week, the soap is being shown every evening, Monday to Friday inclusive, at 9 pm for half an hour.

This is partly due to Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals taking place this week but it’s also thought that the scenes involving Phelan are quite violent, causing them to be shown after the 9 pm watershed.
