Corrie’s Nicola Thorp shares emotional farewell to fans as character leaves Weatherfield

"I’m lucky to call you my friends."

Last night's Coronation Street was absolutely full of drama. Admittedly, it was mostly because of Liz and Johnny. But there were also a few familiar faces leaving Weatherfield. Following Pat Phelan's recent (and grisly) end last month, his former wife Eileen, daughter Nicola Rubinstein and grandson Zach have all left the cobbles. The trio traded Weatherfield for Bristol as they understandably sought out a fresh start - especially after Phelan shot his daughter in an effort to see his grandson. Although Eileen will be returning after a short break, it looks like Nicola's exit may be a little more official. Nicola Thorp, who plays Nicola Rubinstein, hinted that fans may not see her character on the cobbles again following the episode. The actress wrote on social media:

"Thanks to the cast and crew and everyone at Coronation Street for making the cobbles feel like home this past year. I’m lucky to call you my friends. "Thanks to the audience and fans for all the love and support. "From this Nicola (and the other one) see you later, Weatherfield."
