"It can make for uncomfortable viewing but I think it’s a really important storyline to tell. We’ve been working really closely with Barnardo’s to make sure that we get it right, and doing a lot of other peoples stories justice. "It’s something that’s not really been touched on in soaps, it’s a tricky story to tell but we’ve managed to so far to tell it as sensitively as possible. We’ve worked really closely with Louisa and Joe-Warren Plant and Matthew Wolfenden, and our research team and we’re all really keen to get it right. "There’s still a long way to go, it’s not going to be as straightforward as you’d imagine, there’s going to be other obstacles thrown into the mix, we want people to be yelling at the TV 'please tell somebody. This is not right! You’re a young lad. please speak out about this'."Speaking about the outcome and if there will be a court case at the end, Kate said:
"Whether it’s do to with Maya and Jacob I couldn’t tell you?’ she said. "It might not be that case. Wait and see. But Maya is a desperate woman. There’s lot going on, and she’s under a lot of pressure. "It’s interesting to explore the family, it’s about Jacob and David and Pollard, that’s what we’re keen to tell is the aftermath and how it impacts on them."
