Fair City’s Wayne shocked after discovery that will change Carrigstown forever

WARNING: Fair City spoilers lie ahead.

The Carrigstown residents were rocked this week after Karen was discovered lying on the ground, covered in her own blood. After Karen went AWOL after the events at the Station, a concerned Aoife begins wonder if she is a danger to herself. Meanwhile, Bob is furious with Karen after the charity event turns into a disaster, blaming her for what went wrong that night. Carol, shaken after her confrontation with Karen at the Station, makes her way to McCoy's, accusing Robbie of being blind about Karen. Robbie ends up being the one to find Karen's phone after she threw it away when she fled the station. Paul warns Oisín the the needs to stay away from Karen, and begins to worry when he learns from Bob that she's gone missing. Wayne ends up being the one to find Karen, lying bloodied in his and Orla's kitchen with the word 'slut' scrawled across the fridge in lipstick - and unsure if she is alive or dead. Victor Burke, who plays Wayne, said that the crew have "pulled out all the stops" when it came time for the storyline. He also teased how the discovery will ultimately end up affected the residents of Carrigstown. He said:

"Wayne reels when he discovers Karen at home in is his kitchen lying on the floor with a bloody wound to her side and the word 'Slut' scrawled across the fridge in lipstick behind her.

"Wayne's had a tough week of it with Karen kissing him in Sunday's episode and his wife and the whole community wondering if he and Karen have been having an affair behind Orla's back.

"When he finds Karen injured in his and Orla's kitchen he tries to help her, but the way that events unfold will have long reaching effects for Wayne, Orla, Junior and the wider Carrigstown community at large. "
