The first look at the live action Dumbo movie is here and it’s TOO cute

It was the elephant in the room, really.

Disney have given fans the first look at Tim Burton’s live action remake of the 1941 classic, Dumbo.

And he was too cute.

Audiences at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nevada, were treated to a number of ‘first glimpses’ from many of the House of Mouse’s upcoming (and hotly anticipated) releases.

IndieWire reports the footage shown of Dumbo was largely behind-the-scenes – with many of the actors and Tim Burton talking about the magic behind the movie.

Cathleen Taff, the EVP of distribution and franchise management at Walk Disney Studios, explained to the audience that they had “expanded the story”.

She said that the new movie, which is due out in cinemas in North American March 29, 2019, will pick up where the 1941 animated version left off: with Dumbo flying, and becoming front page news in the process.

However, Dumbo never flew in the footage shown to the crowd at CinemaCon (but how cool would that have been?!).

Instead, the company only showed concept art of the main character – who will, as expected, be CGI in the final film.

Following the adorable elephant’s tale are the kids of the former circus legend Holt Farrier, played by Colin Farrell, as well as trapeze artist Colette Marchant, played by Eva Green.

Danny DeVito will feature in the film as bigtop owner Max Medici, who is trying to fend off the evil and exploitative V.A. Vadnemere, played by Michael Keaton.
