Game of Thrones actor hints that not everybody will be happy with series finale

Keeley Ryan

Let the cryptic and not-at-all-reassuring hints about the Game of Thrones finale continue.

Ever since it was announced that Game of Thrones would only be airing its eighth and final season in 2019, fans have been hungry for hints as to what is in store.

And while the cast has been sworn to secrecy over what exactly is happening in the plot, many have begun to share their feelings on the end of the HBO fantasy series.

The latest Game of Thrones star to spill the beans on his feelings post-finale is Iain Glen, who has played Ser Jorah Mormont since season one.

With the series set to return at some point in 2019, the actor admits that he thought the finale was “rather brilliant” when he first read it – but it probably won’t please everyone.

He told the Indian Express:

“When I read it, I thought it was rather brilliant. I am a bit of a fan of the series as well, and it satiated my expectation and hopes, I felt it was the) conclusion…

“But we will just have to see.

“You know with something this big like Game of Thrones, you cannot please everyone…

“All I can say is that we will be doing what we have done before and the writers have written great episodes.

“They have had a great strike rate up to now and I am sure that will continue.”

“We will have to see” isn’t the re-assuring ‘no, all your favourites aren’t going to die’ that we were hoping for…

But we’ll take it.

Fans last saw Jorah travel to Oldtown to look for – and eventually find – a cure for his greyscale, before reuniting with Daenerys at Dragonstone.

He ended up traveling north of the Wall with Jon Snow & Co., which led to that big battle scene with the wights and White Walkers – before the group were saved by Dany and her dragons.

Ultimately making his way to King’s Landing with the others to attend the negotiations between Daenerys, Cersei and Jon, the finale last saw them headed back  North.
