They're really upping the drama on this year's Love Island and after an intense few days in the villa, it's only set to continue tonight. It's been confirmed, it's official, the much loved and one thing known to cause a bit of drama is back, the heart race challenge. Teasing the beloved game on last night's episode, we get to see the Islanders dress up in sexy outfits and perform dances for their fellow cast mates as they aim to get their heartbeats up. After each performance, the islanders are told who raises whose heartbeat the most and naturally, it's never the person they think it will be and drama ensues. Fans of the show are certainly happy to have it back, heading straight to Twitter to share their excitement. One person wrote: "WE FINALLY GET THE HEART RATE CHALLENGE THANK YOU LOVE ISLAND." Another said: "the heart rate challenge? who’s ready for MESSSSSS." A third wrote: "THANK YOU PRODUCERS FOR GIVING US THE HEART RATE CHALLENGE EARLY." A fourth added: "EKIN-SU AND DAVIDE FOR THE HEART RATE CHALLENGE I GUARANTEE ITTTT." While it's all fun and games for the viewers, former islander Shaughna Phillips recently said that the challenge is not all it seems to be. Speaking about one of her most traumatic days in the villa, the winter series star described the heart rate challenge as "vile" and that she was left balling crying due to it. Speaking on the Should I Delete That podcast, the 26 year old revealed that a lot of awful and unexpected things went on behind the scenes. The biggest shock, however, was when she revealed that the islanders were forced to wear skimpy outfits while doing the heart rate challenge and didn't have any say in the matter. Shaughna admitted that she cried all day due to this and begged producers not to take part, but revealed she was forced to do it regardless. Speaking about that day, she said: “I cried from lunchtime to the minute I walked out. "I said to them [the show’s producers], ‘I will go out naked in nipple tassels, as long as you give me trousers, tights, or thigh high boots. I will do whatever you want’. "And I was the only girl that had none of that. I said to them, ‘I might just walk. I can’t do this’.”
