Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has slammed one fan favourite challenge on the show and revealed it is a lot worse behind the scenes. Speaking about one of her most traumatic days in the villa, the winter series star described the heart rate challenge as "vile" and that she was left balling crying due to it. Speaking on the Should I Delete That podcast, the 26 year old revealed that a lot of awful and unexpected things went on behind the scenes. The biggest shock, however, was when she revealed that the islanders were forced to wear skimpy outfits while doing the heart rate challenge and didn't have any say in the matter. Shaughna admitted that she cried all day due to this and begged producers not to take part, but revealed she was forced to do it regardless. Speaking about that day, she said: “I cried from lunchtime to the minute I walked out. "I said to them [the show’s producers], ‘I will go out naked in nipple tassels, as long as you give me trousers, tights, or thigh high boots. I will do whatever you want’. "And I was the only girl that had none of that. I said to them, ‘I might just walk. I can’t do this’.” Continuing, she said that no matter how much she begged, she wasn't listened to. She added: "I was crying, I was going, ‘Please, you don’t understand. Please.’ "I was really struggling with swollen legs because [of] the different altitude over there [South Africa]. I was crying because I felt like rubbish, I was crying because I was embarrassed.” She then went on to say that the results are "fixed" as producers aim to create a storyline based on it or to fit whatever they have already. “I think it was set up,” she said. “In the competition it said mine went up for Callum, and obviously it would’ve been a greater storyline that mine went for Callum and Callum’s didn’t go [up] for me, but I don’t think mine went for him. I’m sure mine went for someone else. "Even though I know, or I think it wasn’t true, the nation’s then watching me looking like a t**t. I just felt like a donut.”
