Love Island fans concerned over “bullying” of Ekin-Su

“People in that villa persistently bully and slutshame Ekin-su.”

Love Island fans have been left feeling concerned for Ekin-Su after Thursday night’s episode, when an explosive argument with Jay saw some of the other islanders gang up on her.

The 27-year-old was left feeling hurt when Jay, who is coupled up with her, told her he wanted to get to know Paige.

Ekin-Su pulled Jay for a chat and accused him of leading her on, telling him he should get an Oscar for how he acted with her.

It wasn’t long before she walked away from the conversation, labelling his behaviour as “muggy”.

Moments later, Jacques said to her: “He coupled up with you and found out what you are in two days mate, a f**king headache!”

Luca then jokingly welcomed Jay to the “doghouse”.

Viewers took to Twitter to express concern over how Ekin-Su has been treated in the villa over the past few days.

“Ekin Su is getting bullied in that villa and nothing is being done,” one person said.

“People in that villa persistently bully and slutshame Ekin-Su, and the worst part is that the public passes this behaviour off as ‘funny’ and ‘karma’,” another wrote.

“Ekin-Su doesn’t deserve how she’s being treated considering she’s carrying this show on her back,” a third said.

“Just watched yesterday’s episode and nope the way they treat ekin-su is just… nah, bullies,” a fourth added.

Others pointed out how Ekin-Su is being slut shamed for her behaviour, as some male islanders have acted in a similar manner and had nothing said to them.

“The slut shaming for Ekin-Su is very wild. Luca went from 3 different girls in one week and nobody said anything. Dami moved to Indiyah without ending things with Amber and nobody said anything. ‘Bouncing from flower to flower’ but Jay is leaving her? Yeah, okay.”

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
