Love Island USA has done an Adam Collard on it and brought back an old islander

They’ve done it again.

Love Island USA is well and truly underway over in the states and while it has started airing this side of the pond, we’re a good few episodes behind.

We remember last month after the islanders came back from Casa Amor to find a new islander joining, but he wasn’t a new islander at all, it was season four’s Adam Collard returning for a second stint.

Taking inspiration from the UK version, the USA show has brought back a once beloved islander and done the same thing, only this time it’s season two’s Mackenzie Dipman.

Much like Adam, she was a fan favourite on the show back in 2020, and spoke about heading back into the villa to People Magazine,

“I just think it’s going to be a lot more fun this time around, a lot less pressure,” she told People. “I think that’s just one of the luxuries of getting a little bit older is that you just kind of learn to let go of certain insecurities.”

“There are definitely a few guys that I have my eye on,” she added. “I know, though, from my own experience, that people that I was with on the show appeared very differently on TV from how I knew them in real life, so I’m trying to keep an open mind about everybody.”

Returning “for a second shot at love” on Wednesday night’s episode, Mackenzie returned as voiceover man Iain Stirling said for the second time this year “guess who’s back?”

Mackenzie first appeared on the show in season two as an OG islander and made it halfway through the season before she was dumped from the villa and throughout the show was coupled up with Connor Trott.

The couple stayed together after the show for around six months before breaking up in March 2021, both saying their careers were taking them on different paths. Sounds an awful lot like Adam Collard to us.

This isn’t the first time different variations of the show have copied one another, on the second season of Love Island Australia in 2019, we saw twins Josh and Luke heading into the villa together and it was only a matter of months before the UK show did the same thing in the first winter series with Jess and Eve.
