Eastenders star John Altman has announced that he is set to quit his acting career to become a rock star.
The actor, who plays 'Nasty Nick' Cotton, recently returned to the soap but will be killed off after mother Dot discovers that he was responsible for the crash that killed Emma Summerhayes and left Ronnie in a coma.
Altman released a cover of Iggy Pop's Wild One with girlband JOANovARC in December and told STV that he plans to put acting on hold while he launches a music career.
''If everything takes off with the group then I will devote at least a year to it all. I would give up my acting to pursue it, I have been knocking on the rock 'n' roll door for years," he said.
