This Oscar winner almost played Gossip Girl’s Serena and we can’t cope

We can't quite imagine this.

It's been years since the world dove into New York's Upper East Side when Gossip Girl premiered. The glamorous look into the lives of wealthy Manhattanites left our TV screens back in 2012 - and we've got to say, we definitely miss it. And we've had no shortage of Gossip Girl gossip over the recent weeks, as the show gets ready to celebrate its tenth anniversary. With all the recent revelations about the show, from the fact that Ed Westwick still doesn't know who Gossip Girl was to the cast being ready for a possible reunion, you would think that there's nothing too surprising left. But it turns out another very familiar face was almost S on Gossip Girl... The show's creator recently revealed that Jennifer Lawrence had auditioned to play Serena van der Woodensen back when she was a teenager. Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz told Vulture:

“We did not realize this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned. “This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it.”

And, possibly making things a lot more awkward, he added they can't remember if they saw the Hunger Games actress' audition tape or not. He added:

“We can’t remember if we saw it or not. It was ten years ago, and she would’ve been how old, 15?
