People have some STRONG opinions about the judge in Ted Bundy's trial after watching the docu-series

We were all thinking the same thing (which was WTF?)

If you consider yourself a bit of a murderino, or you’re interested in true crime or psychology, you’ve probably tuned into the new Netflix docu-series about the notorious serial killer, Ted Bundy by now.

Confessions of a Serial Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes was released at the end of last month and the four-part programme centres on interviews that took place while Bundy was on death row.

There are lots of shocking revelations that come to light as the series unfolds, like how Bundy represented himself during his trial or when he later proposed to his girlfriend Carole Ann Boone during one day in court, but the most bizarre thing to watch was what the judge said to Bundy after he sentenced him to death for his heinous crimes.

The Miami trial’s judge, Edward D. Cowart of Dade County Circuit Court displayed kindness towards the killer saying:

“Take care of yourself, young man. I say that to you sincerely; take care of yourself, please. It’s a tragedy for this court to see such a total waste, I think, of humanity that I have experienced in this court.

“You’re a bright young man. You would have made a good lawyer and I would have loved to have you practice in front of me, but you went another way, partner. Take care of yourself. I don’t feel any animosity toward you. I want you to know that. Once again, take care of yourself.”

Sorry… what now?!

It’s all we could talk about in the office after watching it and it seems like we weren’t the only ones who were baffled, judging from the reaction on Twitter:

Indeed, everyone seemed to think it was entirely inappropriate.
