Ryan Reynolds wants a role in Game of Thrones

He thinks his Irish roots might help him land the gig.

We’d definitely watch this.

We’re anxiously waiting for the next season of Game of Thrones to land next month and it seems we’re not the only ones – Ryan Reynolds has revealed he’s a big fan.

“It’s no secret, I’m a Game of Thrones nut. I’m an addict,” he told the Sun.

“There’s nothing I won’t do to get my next fix. No boundary of self-respect, I’ll do whatever it is I have to do to have more.”

He also said he’d love to get in on the action and thinks his Irish roots could help him win a role in the hit series.

“I’m not sure how or where I’d fit in, are there any new parts? Maybe I could just take over (one of the roles).

“There are some amazing Irish actors, and I’m Irish, I’ve got that rugged pallor for maybe Littlefinger or Davos. I could see that. Or maybe I could be a long lost Lannister?”

The Canadian actor has previously spoken about his Irish ancestry.

“I’ve been to Dublin and Galway. My brother and I just toured around there for a while. We have relatives there, whom we completely avoided,” he said back in 2011.

We can definitely picture him on horseback wearing fur and leather anyway…
