The Star Wars actor passed away yesterday.

London born actor, Alfie Curtis, is predominantly remembered for famously threatening Luke Skywalker at Mos Eisley Cantina in the 1977 film Episode IV: A New Hope.

He played Dr Evazan in the first of the Star Wars Trilogy, and no doubt has vast amounts of avid Star Wars fans remembering him today.

Alfie was also known for his role in the famed 1980 movie, The Elephant Man.

Earlier, actor Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, took to Twitter saying;

“Alfie Curtis made the Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina scene – one of the most memorable I’ve ever been a part of – even more memorable.”

He also referred to him warmly as “funny, kind and a real gentleman.”

The Star Wars actor died exactly one year after 60-year-old Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the same franchise. Tributes from fans continue to pour out today.
