Tributes pour in after Full House star Bob Saget dies aged 65

Tributes have been pouring in for Hollywood actor and comedian Bob Saget, who has passed away at the age of 65.

His death was confirmed by police after he was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida.

Orange County’s Sheriff’s Office issued a statement confirming the death, which read: “Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room.

“The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene.”

According to SkyNews, investigators have said that they found no signs of foul play, though an exact cause of death has not been given.

Saget was best known for his performance as the Danny Tanner in the family sitcom Full House. He also voiced the narrator Ted Mosby on How I Meet Your Mother and he served as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997.

Since the news of his passing was announced, a number of celebrities have paid tribute to Saget.

Whoppi Goldberg took to Twitter to say: “Sail on my friend Bob Saget With your huge heart and abject lunacy, my condolences to his daughters and other family.”

John Stamos, who appeared alongside Saget in Full House, said that he was “broken” to hear the news.

He wrote: “I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby.”

Jim Carrey, meanwhile, wrote: “Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness’ sake.”

George Takei said that he was “deeply saddened” to learn of the actor’s passing. He said: “Beloved by millions as America’s Dad, he was a regular presence in our living rooms, bringing us the funniest videos and countless belly laughs. Gone too soon, like so many of the brightest souls.”
