We cannot wait to watch this.

The trailer for Florence Pugh’s new film The Wonder has landed, and it looks incredible.

The film, which is directed by Sebastián Lelio, is based on the novel of the same name by Irish writer Emma Donoghue.

The Wonder is set in the midlands in post-famine Ireland. In it, Pugh plays Lib Wright, an English nurse who has been brought over to Ireland to an observe a young girl, Anna (Kíla Lord Cassidy), who has stopped eating, but appears to be surviving. The villagers believe that Anna’s survival is an act of God, but the sceptical Lib is convinced that something else may be at play. As the pair grow closer, Anna becomes a beacon of faith, but Lib finds herself faced with an impossible moral dilemma.

The film also features the acting talents of Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, Dermot Crowley, Brían F. O’Byrne and David Wilmot.

You can watch the trailer below.

The film lands on Netflix on 16 November.

Florence spent a decent chunk of her time in Ireland filming the project last year, and as she shared one of the first looks, she spoke about her love for the Emerald Isle, and we have to say, we agree.

“We’ve been traipsing around the Irish hills for the last week and it’s truly been a magnificent start to a beautiful and exciting film,” she wrote at the time. “What a story to get our teeth stuck into, what a crew to be working alongside and a fantastic director Sebastian Leilo to be leading us! This will be fun.”

While she was in Ireland, she also made sure to sample one of our best exports – a creamy pint of Guinness.

The Wonder lands exclusively on Netflix on 16 November.
