He confirmed her exit earlier this week.

But X Factor bosses have reportedly already began to take steps towards filling Louis Walsh’s seat on the judging panel.

According to The Sunformer Take That star Robbie Williams is in talks to join the judges.

A source told the publication that the singer “has always been Simon’s dream signing” – and he’s been trying to get him on the panel for a decade.

The insider continued:

“Now it appears he’s finally going to get his man.

“Over the past 12 months they’ve become close, as have their wives who are also pals.

“There’s a deal on the table and Robbie is keen to do it. The hope is that the deal is days away from being signed and announced.”

The outlet also reports that Ricky Martin, as well as former X Factor judge and Spice Girls member Mel B, are also being considered for judging roles.

Walsh announced his exit from the ITV talent show earlier this week, after 13 years on the panel.

The Irishman first appeared in the first series in 2004 and confirmed in a statement that he was “ready to leave.”

Louis said:

“I’ve had a fantastic 13 years on The X Factor but the show needs a change and I’m ready to leave.
