Zac Efron has just been cast in the new Scooby Doo movie

Olivia Hayes

Zac Efron

He’s played various roles over the past few years.

From High School Musical, to Baywatch, The Greatest Showman and the upcoming Ted Bundy movie, Zac Efron has really spread his wings when it comes to the movies he’s choosing.

He’s strayed away from the stereotypical hot guy and seems to be going for just about everything and anything – not that we’re complaining.

However, we weren’t expecting his latest role.

It has just been announced that Zac Efron – and Amanda Seyfried (!) are coming on board to play Fred and Daphne in the new Scooby Doo film.

The movie, titled Scoob, is set to be released in May 2020, and now most of the characters have been cast.

Will Forte will be Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez will play Velma, Tracy Morgan is taking on the role of Captain Caveman and Frank Welker will reprise the voice of the main dog himself, Scooby-Doo.

According to Deadline, Zac and Amanda were the final pieces of the puzzle for the film, which will be directed by Tony Cervone.

It will also be back in its original animation format, instead of the real-life versions of years previous.
