“I don’t have any friends left because they sold stories on me.”

Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has said that she has lost many friends since finding fame.

The Turkish actress became a star after appearing on the ITV dating show last year, and while she may have found love in the form of Davide Sanclimenti, one of the downsides to fame has been losing trust in her friends.

Speaking on Reddit with Joe Garrett, Ekin-Su said that her former pals sold stories about her, which cost her their friendship.

She shared the insight as she advised potential contestants on how to handle fame.

“Don’t change who you are,” she said. “Don’t get caught up in this ego where you think you’re this celebrity so you should act a certain way and belittle people – you shouldn’t.”

She emphasised the importance of respecting every single person you meet, before divulging that she has lost friends.

“I lost so many friends coming out,” she said. “I don’t have any friends left because they sold stories on me.”

She went on to say that you “make new friends who understand you”.

Ekin-Su is currently appearing on Dancing On Ice, where she is partnered with Brendyn Hatfield. Last weekend, despite receiving a decent score from the judges, Ekin-Su found herself in the skate-off. She survived elimination, beating out John Fashanu.

Following her first week on the show, Ekin-Su was targeted with slut-shaming comments online, while several viewers complained to Ofcom about her outfit and her routine. However, Ekin-Su brushed these comments off, telling The Sun, “You know what? If you have ’em, flaunt them.”

She added: “I mean if you’ve got a nice bum and you look sexy in a unitard, why not? Who cares?”
