Kensington Palace release new photos of Prince Louis to mark his first birthday

Beyond adorable.

Kensington Palace have shared an adorable series of photos of Prince Louis ahead of the young royal's first birthday.

The photos were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge who, along with the Duke, were said to be "delighted" to post the new portraits.

The pictures were taken in the garden in the family's home in Norfolk earlier this month.

The photos mark the first time the public has seen Prince Louis since the Cambridges released a family portrait for their Christmas card.

The picture, which was first shared back in December, was also taken at Amner Hall.

It comes as it was revealed that the youngest member of the Cambridge family's birthday celebrations are thought to have taken place a bit earlier.

Prince Louis' birthday is April 23, which also happens to be the day  both Prince George and Princess Charlotte will return to school and nursery.

The family have been spending the last little while in Norfolk for the Easter break, and are thought to have marked Louis' birthday on Easter Sunday.

Staying at the residence they own at the Queen's Sandringham Estate, Anmer Hall, the royals have been taking some much needed time out to focus on family time during the children's break.

Prince George is expected to return to Thomas' in Battersea while Princess Charlotte will complete her final term in Willcocks Nursey before joining her brother in school.

Prince William also has a busy schedule lined up as his youngest turns one and his other two children return to school - the royal is expected in New Zealand on April 25 and so, will be travelling just after his son's birthday.

And as Prince Louis turns one, we wait on the arrival of the newest royal, with Meghan Markle due to give birth late April/ early May - the countdown is on.
