Paul Sinha calls out fan over comments on his “shaky” hand

The comment was made after a recent performance.

The Chase star Paul Sinha has shared that a fan recently asked their friend to hide his “shaky” hand as they posed for a picture together.

Sinha, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, explained on Twitter that he was upset by the recent interaction, which occurred following a recent live performance.

“To the audience member who asked for a postgig photo and asked her friend taking it to ‘hide his shaky hand’, I want you to know that the smile on my face hides pure hatred,” he tweeted.

He then wrote: “I ought to say that the rest of the audience were delightful, Ashby is always a great gig, and she was not a local.”

Since his initial diagnosis, Paul has been open about his experience with the neurological disease. Last year, he said that he felt a sense of “relief” when he was given the news.

He told Channel 5 News: “There was a slight sense of relief that I could get on with my life because I knew that something was going horribly wrong, and it was more a relief of now that I know what it is, I can sort of own it.

“Before the diagnosis, I was trundling along, now there’s a sense of urgency to just get things done.”

He continued: “There is more a sense of don’t waste your time, don’t do things that you don’t enjoy, don’t listen to music that you don’t like, there’s more of an urgency to it.”

At the time, Paul also spoke about the need to prioritise his mental health.

“It’s not an act of courage, it’s an act of pragmatism,” he said. “If you’ve got a disease process, you are going to live a better life if you treat it with good spirits rather than bad.”
