There could be a Love Island star performing in next year’s Eurovision

This could be huge for her.

Love Island star Antigoni Buxton is said to be in talks to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest next year.

After appearing on Love Island earlier this year, the 26 year old has made a name for herself on social media through her music.

With Greek/Cypriot heritage, she has recently travelled to Athens to show off some of her music.

After submitting three songs for consideration, Antigoni is hopeful to be heading to Liverpool in 2023 to perform on the Eurovision stage.

Antigoni told MailOnline: “I’m submitting three songs but one in particular is my favourite.

“It’s an up-tempo, powerful, fiery and romantic track with both Greek and English lyrics.

“Combining modern sounds and Hip-hop production with Greek traditional sounds and melodies is my style.”

Adding that she is “so proud” of her Greek ancestory, she is aiming to share Greek sounds and culture with the world through her music.

And as Eurovision is to be held in her home country of the UK, she said she would be honoured to “use my platform here to shine a light on the country I’m representing.”

Appearing on the latest season of Love Island, Antigoni initially set her eyes on Davide Sanclimenti and Jay Younger but never had the chance to see things go any further as she was dumped from the villa in week 4.

After leaving the villa, rumours swirled around that she was seeing fellow islander Jacques O’Neill, but she quickly shut down those rumours.

Antigoni told The Sun: “Me and Jacques are definitely not a thing. People can’t believe that a boy and girl can just be friends.”
