Looks like a huge Game of Thrones character could be returning next season

This would be huge.

A familiar face could be returning to Game of Thrones next season after their return was “leaked” on social media.

While we’re going to be waiting for a few months yet to find out what happens in Westeros after that cliffhanger, that hasn’t stopped us from pouring over just about every scrap of information we can find.

Including that pretty devastating leak from earlier this year.

But the latest bit of Game of Thrones information doing the rounds hints that a hug character could be making a return in season 8.

Wilf Scolding, who played Rhaegar Targaryen (also known as Jon Snow’s real dad) last season, reportedly dropped a big clue he could be making a return to Westeros on social media.

According to Winter is Comingthe actor shared a photo of himself on Instagram outside the Europa Hotel in Belfast – a huge hub of activity for Game of Thrones filming.

While the photo has since been removed, it’s the internet: nothing’s really gone forever.

It’s totally possible that he’s in Belfast on vacation, or simply visiting some friends from the last time he was on Game of Thrones.

But with the probability that Jon Snow’s parentage is going to be coming out this season (because seriously, how long can he be kept in the dark about this?!), it’s more than likely that he’s there for filming.

It’s not immediately clear which flashbacks he’s there to film, and what they may (or may not) reveal about his relationship with Lyanna Stark.

We’re just hoping Jon gets to find out the truth once and for all.
