It’s the news that we want – that we really, really want.

Ever since the rumours began earlier this year, we have been keeping our fingers crossed for a Spice Girls reunion.

After all five former band members got together for a brunch in February and teased an exciting opportunity, fans’ hopes were high that they would soon be belting out Stop! once again in stadiums.

Only for Victoria Beckham to seemingly definitively deny that there was any tour happening, telling Vogue: “I’m not going on tour, the girls aren’t going on tour.”

But Mel B has now hinted that our favourite ’90s band are in fact going to be hitting the road once again.

OK, well, she actually straight out said it.

During an appearance on The Today Show, Mel B said:

“I still do [love performing]. I’m the only one that keeps on saying, ‘We’re gonna be performing,’ which we are gonna be performing.

“Finally they got it together.”

And when it was brought up that Victoria had previously denied the touring rumours, Mel B said:

“She’s always bloody saying that, stop it – we are touring!

“Yes, we are going to be doing performances together, for sure.”

The Spice Girls were launched in 1994. Their 1996 debut single – Wannabe – proved an instant hit, hitting the No.1 spot in 37 countries – including Ireland.

They’ve sold 85 million records globally, a tally that makes them the best-selling girl group of all time.
