How does everyone feel about this? For the first time in history, a mother is trying to gain access to her dead daughter’s frozen eggs in order to give birth to her own grandchild. Last year the High Court in London denied a request for a 59-year-old mother to use her dead daughter’s frozen eggs […]

Claiming that the Leave vote in last month’s EU referendum represents “the result we fought for so long to achieve”, the MEP has confirmed he will relinquish his duties at […]

Cocktails are the elixir of life. Okay, so that may be a little OTT but they’re the next best thing. From Bloody Marys to Old Fashioneds, Espresso Martinis to a good ol’ Mojito, we’ve sampled them all. Poitin, isn’t exactly something we’d associate with a fine Cocktail list but one Dublin bar is trying to […]

“He’s too busy being beige.” Fans of the band will never stop getting their hopes up, but it seems as if Oasis are never getting back together. For it to happen, it would require Liam and Noel Gallagher to work together and it would seem as if the pair of them are far more interested […]

Roll on deodorant… and the weekend It’s been a hell of a week for world news, the majority of it being pretty depressing. Alas, we finally have good news on the environmental front. Since 2000, the hole in the ozone layer above Antarctica has decreased by 1.5 million square miles. via GIPHY The ozone layer is […]

BBC tennis commentator Andrew Castle is at the centre of a sexism row after comments he made about British tennis player Marcus Willis’s girlfriend. How bad-ass is Dame Judi Dench? As if we couldn’t possibly love the Oscar-winning actress any more, she’s only gone and got herself a tattoo to mark her 81st birthday. The tattoo itself sits on the inside of her right wrist and says ‘Carpe Diem’ which is Latin for seize the day and was a […]

Been apartment hunting lately? It doesn’t take a property expert to realise that the rental market in Ireland is completely out of whack. Landlords are charging exorbitant amounts of money for box rooms with no windows and people are increasingly sharing rooms with bunk-beds. The most recent report released by Daft.ie reveals that in cities […]

As all writers should, I’m going to open this piece with an anecdote about a gay Brazilian. On Saturday evening I was standing on Dublin’s D’Olier Street when a rainbow clad gay Brazilian rounded the corner. With a Redbull in hand, he stopped to wish me and the group with whom I stood a Happy […]

The Crunchie commute is back and this time it’s headed for Cork. Last Friday, commuters travelling from Hueston Station to Galway were treated to a journey with a difference when Crunchie took over the train. The shindig that ensued looked like one of the best parties we have ever seen. The first class cabin, which […]

This is truly devastating. Kate Slattery was killed on June 22nd as she was ‘safely riding her bicycle’ when a speeding car ran a red light at an intersection in San Francisco, California, and struck her. Shocking but it won’t surprise some. By a margin of 51.9% to 48.1%, the people of the United Kingdom supported the motion to withdraw from the EU. The backlash of the result has been immediate.
