The first look at Harvey, Zelda and Hilda in the new Sabrina reboot is here

Something wicked this way comes.

And while there’s still a little while to go until the premiere of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – aka: the Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot/reimagining – it’s looking like they have conjured up something magical.

Following last week’s trailer, Netflix have released the first photos of the cast.

First up? Harvey Kinkle, Sabrina’s mortal boyfriend and “the Prince Charming of this dark fairy tale”.

Who also has absolutely no idea about the dark forces trying to keep them apart.

And then there’s Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda, Sabrina’s Good Cop/Bad Cop guardians.

Aunt Hilda, played by Lucy Davis, has “a motherly nature and warm sense of humour” – as well as a “wicked, ghoulish streak”.

She’s also “adept at brewing spite jars against her family’s enemies as she is at concocting love potions for the students at Baxter High”.

And then there’s the “tough” and “stern” Aunt Zelda – with an all-consuming devotion to the Dark Lord.

The character, played by Miranda Otto, believes that there is no greater honour than serving as a member of the Church of the Night – and is “fiercely protective of Sabrina and very much Cain to Hilda’s Abel.”

The Weird Sisters – Agatha, Prudence and Dorcas – are “uncanny” and “powerful” teen witches at Sabrina’s school, who start to give her a hard time for being half-mortal.

Father Blackwood, played by Richard Coyle, is the “ruthless and ambitious” High Priest of the Church of Night and Dean of the Academy of the Unseen Arts.

According to Netflix, he “hides a terrifying dark agenda that will put him in direct conflict with Sabrina and other members of the coven.”

With Kieran Shipka set to take over the role previously played by Melissa Joan Hart, the remake is set to have a gritty, darker tone as it will be based on the horror comic The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Speaking of the upcoming show, Netflix said:

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft.

“Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaption finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature – half witch, half mortal – while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.”
