All of the Love Island couples that are still together (and those that aren’t)

Keeley Ryan

There’s still a few months to go until Love Island is back on our telly screens.

The summer reality TV show took over our lives last year, and we’re expecting the same when it kicks off this year, too.

As invested as many fans were in the show, they were equally as keen to know which couples have been able to make their love last outside of the villa.

For some of the villa residents, Love Island helped them find their happily ever after. But for other contestants, things just didn’t quite work out.

But before we ready ourselves for another summer filled with countless conversations about recoupling, getting mugged off, and not putting all of your eggs in one basket, let’s take a look at which couples were able to make their relationship last – and which weren’t – after leaving the villa.

Love Island 2018

Adam and Zara

Status: Split

Things seemed to be a bit touch-and-go for the pair after Zara was dumped from the villa – mainly because Adam stayed and recoupled with Casa Amor’s Darylle.

But after the reunited on the outside world, Zara and Adam soon reconciled – with the fitness trainer admitting on Aftersun that he “100 per cent” loves Zara.

Once in the outside world, the pair filled their social media feeds with snaps from their adventures around the world. However, their relationship came to an end this week as Zara confirmed their split.

Jack and Dani

Status: Still together

The pair captured the hearts of Love Island viewers last year, sailing to an easy victory – and splitting the £50,000 prize.

Since then, they seem to go from strength to strength – even landing their own post-villa TV series.

Which is why fans were particularly heartbroken when Dani announced she and Jack had gone their separate ways.

But after the brief (and slightly confusing) split, the Love Island 2018 winners appear to be going stronger than ever.

Megan and Wes

Status: Split

Megan and Wes had a bit of a dramatic start to their villa relationship, but things seemed to be going really, really well for them on the outside world.

Late lat month, though, Megan announced that it was “with hearts full of sadness” they were announcing their split.

She added:

“We have been working hard for well under a year, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.”

Megan soon followed up with a second statement, talking about how she was “so grateful and blessed” to have found Wes.

Paul and Laura

Status: Split

The pair, who came in second in the ITV2 show, are said to have “cooled off their romance” and gone their separate ways after spending some time apart immediately after the series.

Laura later revealed the reason behind their split, telling OK! Magazine:

“When we came out of the villa, there were a lot of work related things we did together and then Paul went away for three weeks.

“I was hoping that when he came back we’d spend more time together and build a proper relationship out of the villa. It didn’t happen.”

Paul, meanwhile, said they “weren’t compatible for each other.”

Kaz and Josh

Status: Split

Kaz and Josh hit it off as soon as he went to Casa Amor – and although things got off to a bit of an awkward start in the main villa (namely, the two of them walking in together hand-in-hand during that recoupling ceremony), they were one of our favourite pairings.

But after six months together, Kaz announced that she and Josh had gone their separate ways with a heartfelt Instagram post.

She said:

“Sometimes things don’t go the way you planned, but you have to be grateful for the journey. Thank you for everything especially showing me how to love myself again.”

Josh hasn’t made a statement about the split yet, although he did add a sad face emoji under the post.

Charlie and Ellie

Status: Split

The pair appeared to be going from strength to strength following their time in the villa, with Ellie moving into Charlie’s Chelsea home soon after their Love Island stint.

But then came all the reports about an explosive series of rows, and the rumours of splits and reconciliations.

Then, Charlie announced that they had “gone their separate ways”…via Instagram stories.

Very harsh.

Georgia and Sam

Status: Split

They had many, many ups and downs in the Love Island villa – but things seemed to be going fairly smoothly for Sam and Georgia after their time on the ITV2 show.

They became boyfriend/girlfriend official, and even moved in together.

Which is why many fans were shocked when Sam announced their split late last year, accusing Georgia of being the total opposite of #loyal.

Georgia, however, said that she was totally loyal and there was “NO third party involved.”

Jack and Laura

Status: Split

The pair got together pretty late into the series, when Jack dumped Laura A after Laura C entered the villa – but didn’t actually make their relationship official during their time on the show.

The pair announced in September that they called time on their relationship, with Laura admitting their busy schedules played a part in the decision.

The 23-year old said:

“Sadly Jack and I have both decided to go our separate ways due to such busy schedules right now and not having the time to spend together.

“Feel truly blessed to have got to share my Love Island experience with him and to have made a friend for life.”

Samira and Frankie

Status: Split

Samira and Frankie were the first couple to announce their split after the end of last summer’s series.

The two went ‘official’ with their relationship after Samira walked from the Love Island villa to be with him, only to announce in August that they had split.

A spokesperson for Samira said she “will be taking some time out from her relationship with Frankie to focus on herself and future work opportunities.”

The announcement of their split came amid claims that Frankie had cheated on Samira.

Love Island 2017

Kem and Amber

Status: Split

They were one of our favourite pairings from the 2017 series.

But after sailing to victory in the Love Island villa, Kem and Amber announced in December that year that they were going their separate ways.

They said in a statement:

“With sadness, we’ve decided to separate. Our schedules made it difficult. We’ll remain good friends.”

Camila and Jamie

Status: Still together

Basically all of the Love Island viewers were delighted last season when Jamie entered the villa and immediately won over Camilla.

And once they did get together, they made it all the way to the final three couples – before ultimately loosing out on the top spot to Kem and Amber.

The couple are still together now, and regularly update their social media profiles with super-sweet selfies.

They also use their platforms to promote charitable causes and to promote their company, Love Jamila.

Chris and Olivia

Status: Split

Even with their obvious chemistry, things never went too smoothly for Chris and Olivia – especially with their constant arguments.

They made a real go of things once they got outside the Love Island villa, and even got a spin-off, Chris and Live: Crackin’ On.

Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be. Things came to a head for the former couple earlier this year, with their breakup being aired as the season finale.

Ouch.

Montana and Alex

Status: Split

The first split of Love Island 2017, Montana and Alex confirm they had called time on their relationship just weeks after the show.

The former couple issued joint social media statements, talking about how “hard” it was to make it work outside the villa – although, according to Alex, Montana was the one who instigated the split.

Speaking to The Sun soon afterwards, he said:

“I had super strong feelings for her in the villa and when we came out. I was gutted when she ended it, I wasn’t expecting it.

“It was more her, I was willing to fight. I was going to cancel PAs but she’s a strong woman, she wanted to do her own thing.”

Marcel and Gabby

Status: Split

Gabby was another late entry into the Love Island villa last season – but she caught Marcel’s eye almost immediately.

The connection between them delighted viewers, with many campaigning for them to win…however, they ended up finishing fourth.

The pair ended up making it work outside the Love Island villa for nine months, before splitting up earlier this year when it emerged Marcel had cheated on her.

He’s since claimed that she won’t answer his calls – but Gabby totally denied he had even tried to reach out.

Jess and Dom

Status: Married

They were the first couple to be split up in the Love Island villa after Jess was dumped from the island early on.

But the pair appeared to be going from strength to strength once Dom left the villa, even making TV history and getting ‘married’ by Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain last year.

The ceremony wasn’t legally binding, though, and Jess and Dom actually ended ups saying I do in a dreamy-looking, intimate ceremony in Mykonos in October last year.

Love Island 2016

Nathan and Cara

Status: Engaged

The eventual winners of Love Island 2016 were together from the very first day – and, to be honest, probably our favourite pair.

And while the path to true love didn’t quite run smooth for them, Cara and Nathan ended up falling head over heels for each other – and their relationship continued after  leaving the villa.

They confirmed that they were getting ready to welcome their first child last year, shortly after they announced their split.

But the couple have since reconciled, becoming the parents of a baby boy named Freddie-George – and have also gotten engaged.

Emma-Jane and Terry

Status: Split

Terry was responsible for easily one of the most talked about moments of the series, after he dumped Malin Andersson on screen – while she was watching from her sofa at home. Which, naturally, prompted her return to the villa.

The reason for their split? After Malin left the Love Island villa, he moved on with Emma-Jane Woodhams.

Despite the scepticism about their relationship, Terry and Emma made a good go of things after they left Love Island – making things official and eventually moving in together.

However, it wasn’t meant to be and the pair called time on their relationship. Emma rekindled things with an old boyfriend and the pair welcomed their first child last year, before she later announced they had gone their separate ways.

Alex and Olivia

Status: Married

After a bit of a difficult start that saw her struggling to make a connection with anyone in the house, things changed for Olivia when Alex walked in.

Things seemed to hit a bit of a difficult spot after Alex spent the night in the hideaway with fellow housemate, Zara Holland, but he and Liv managed to make it through it.

Following their stint in the Love Island villa, the pair got engaged, moved in together (and later bought a house), and even got a dog.

They tied the knot in a stunning wedding ceremony – making them the first Love Island pair to say ‘I do’ – last year.

Scott and Kady

Status: Split

They had their fair share of tantrums and make-or-break moments, but Kady and Scott ended up being one of fan favourite couples of their year.

And remember the time Scott asked Kady to be official using the oh-so-OTT art of towel arrangement? Talk about cuteness.

Anyways, the ended up making it to the final – alongside Olivia and Alex, and Nathan and Cara.

They continued their relationship outside of the Love Island villa – eventually even moving in together. However, they split in 2017.

Rykard and Rachel

Status: Split

Rachel and Ryakard appeared to be off to a great start after her late arrival into the Love Island villa – until he slept with his best pal, Olivia, with Rachel sleeping nearby.

They soon managed to bounce back and, in one of the series’ most surprising moments, Rykard decided to join his new love on the plane home after Rachel was voted off the island.

Things were going well for the couple once they left Love Island, until late 2017.

Rachel announced their split in December, after almost 18 months together.

Love Island 2015

Hannah and Jon

Status: Split

They were together from Day 1 of the 2015 series –  and while they stayed together until the end, their love story had a few bumps.

There were a lot of back-and-forth spats, as well as plenty of sweet reconciliation – including the time Jon told her she made him feel like a unicorn. And their Love Island journey even ended with Jon popping the question.

Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last once they left Love Island and the pair split up after a holiday.

Jon has gone on to become a cast member of The Only Way Is Essex, while Hannah is still modelling – and recently announced her engagement.

Jess and Max

Status: Split

Jess was, easily, the underdog throughout the ITV2 dating’s show’s inaugural series…as well as being one of the most-loved contestants.

After a few ups and downs – as well as rivalry with Naomi Ball, involving Josh and Max – Jess and Max made it official before the series ended and they were declared the Love Island winners.

However, the pair split soon after leaving the villa.

Jess has since moved on with someone new. Meanwhile Max went on to make a few appearances on other reality TV shows, like Ex On the Beach.

Jordan and Zoe

Status: Split

Jordan and Zoe had a bit of an on-off relationship when the series began – mostly because he pied her off for Daisy.

However, the pair soon kissed and made up – even becoming official in the Love Island villa.

Things didn’t end up lasting after they left the villa, with Zoe confirming their split on social media before the end of the summer.

Jordan is now signed to a film featured artist agency, while Zoe has gone off the radar and taken her social media accounts offline.

Luis and Cally

Status: Split

The former couple were brought back together in the Love Island villa, and, after a brief split have been going strong ever since.

Despite Cally being a late entry into the villa, she and Luis were soon dropping the l-word fairly soon after she joined the cast.

After leaving the villa, the couple continued their relationship – and eventually welcomed the first Love Island baby, their daughter Vienna, in 2017.

However, they announced their split last year.
